It has been a while since I’ve posted because I’ve been very busy.
Short Version: I signed up with Keller Williams Realty Maui, I received my real estate license from the state of Hawaii, I became a Realtor and I attended the Keller Williams Family Reunion in Las Vegas.
Long Version: After many months of training, testing, decisions and waiting, I am open for business as a licensed Realtor. It seemed like a process of hurry up and wait. Always one more step or one more group to pay money to. Active Realtors spend lots of money to be able to provide you the service you deserve. I have a website: www.kathybecklin.com . It isn’t very complete yet but some basic infrastructure is there. I’m still waiting to be able to connect up so that you can search for Maui homes from my site. Most the content and template are provided by Keller Williams; I’ll be updating as time allows. I keep telling myself “Progress not perfection”. I’d like to recognize my sister Karin for helping me with my slogan “Personal, Professional and Passionate”. Of course the great picture was taken by Peter. He has also helped me with business cards and will help with much of my marketing material.
My main focus is on getting out and meeting people! How fun of a career is this? Instead of droning at my computer for hours, I get to go out to beach, volunteer and talk to people. Make more friends. Ask friends for referrals. How many people do you know that dream of owning a home in Maui? I told Peter yesterday that my extrovert personality is really coming out. Being in a technology career for so long really did diminish that side of me!
Besides my primary focus I have a very long list of things to do. Update my website, add better content, get templates in place for everything, create a professional blog and the list goes on.
The Keller Williams Family Reunion was a fabulous learning environment. 12,000 or so real estate professionals from 46 states and 3 Canadian provinces. KW is one of those companies that leadership journals are written about. It is growing consistently despite the downturn in real estate. Gary Keller will probably become one of those leadership icons if he’s not already. I’ll tell more about that in future posts.
This morning I woke up very early with my brain buzzing. That happens after a good conference. I was thinking about what I learned at the conference, combining it with FlyLady as well as “The Secret” which has been highlighted on Oprah. I could write several blogs on this but here is the essence:
Take a little time each day to be purposeful and you will have an abundant life.
They all teach you that you need to have the discipline to define the life of your dreams (or at least a better life) and then allocate some amount of time every day to take action in that direction. And be grateful for what you have.
Let me help you with your real estate needs!
- Send me the names and contact info of anyone who may want to buy or sell real estate on Maui or tell them to register on my website. Anyone who provides potential referrals is put in my Referral Recognition Program and is eligible to receive gifts.
- Are you buying/selling property in your area and you don’t know any good real estate agents? I’d be happy to use my networks and my knowledge to identify and interview a few good agents in your area.
- Have a general question about real estate? Please ask!
- See a problem with my site or anything else? Please let me know.
