I’ve been somewhat overwhelmed the past few weeks. My first listing, my first downline person, my first contract… all good but it’s kept me busy.
And not very focused. Peter is in Texas this week looking for good investment properties. I thought I’d have a chance to get back on track. Instead I feel even more distracted. My analogy is my weeds.
Last week I decided to conquer my weeds. I knew that if I killed my weeds, my lawn would look dead. But I had just heard someone who thought Weed-n-Feed was miracle stuff. Ok, I’ve tried it before and found no miracle. My gardener friends generally think its horrible stuff – not organic and short term results. Well I needed a miracle. I read instructions. It said it doesn’t work if temps get above 90. It seemed cool and I have no idea whether it will be 87, 88 or 90. But tomorrow will be no different. I adjusted sprinklers to match directions. Day 2 after weed and feed, weeds look a little “sad”. By day 7, they have recovered. By day 10 (today) they are thriving – better than before. Maybe I misread and bought “Feed your weeds”.
Miracles don’t happen. I’m better off with my plan to pull weeds 15 minutes a day. Don’t try to conquer – just try to challenge. As FlyLady says – Progress not perfection.
If only I could do everything in 15 minute segments. I would probably get more done — but I’d feel even more distracted.
