I’m often asked when are peak seasons in Hawaii? Generally, peak starts the week before Christmas and continues until after Easter. Being the date of Easter changes pretty drastically, we’ll use April 15 as a general end of peak season.
The really slow periods are typically: April 15-Jun 15 and Oct 1-Nov 15. In past blogs, I’ve talked about how in Maui they tend to do a lot of cane-burning during those periods.
We are staying at a condo in South Kailua-Kona. During the day we hear constant drills, hammers and circular stars disturbing our quiet enjoyment. Our friends who are in a different condo, have the same problem. Peter is ready to shoot someone! Cement block walls are often great ways to keep neighbor noise to a minimum… until someone is trying to hang pictures. Tap tap tap tap tap tap tap…. it slices to the core of your existence and could be used a torture device. It stops just long enough for you to think it is over and then starts again. AAAACK! We were hoping that since it is Memorial Day, no one would be working…WRONG.
Here is wishing you a quiet Memorial Day… remembering and honoring those who’ve risked their lives fighting for our country and freedoms that we so often take for granted.
