I think I’ll make this a regular blog. Every few days we laugh at something unique to Hawaii or Maui living. Recently I’ve been busy with the end details of getting my condo ready for vacation rentals. It looks great. Most the work is done. Just a few delays due to having to pay for everything from my IRA funds.
- Your “must have” supplies for condo include a rice cooker.
Growing up in the midwest, we had rice maybe once a month. Then it was Minute Rice. When I was back in Minnesota last, I was introduced to “Rice in a packet” that you heat by boiling in water. No one in Minnesota makes real rice. Then I married Peter who eats rice almost every day. While he likes rice cookers, he thinks they are uni-taskers and he cooks very good rice in a regular pan.
I still didn’t think it was that wierd until I started thinking about what wasn’t on the “must have” list. I can’t imagine any “kitchen/kitchenette” without a microwave. But it is not required. Nor is a trash can required or salt and pepper shakers.
Enjoy your rice!
