Aloha – Our Kitty Saga continues…
We did not get our new kitty yesterday as planned. Yesterday was the day the Humane Society will spay/neuter cats for free. They had too many to do and couldn’t do ours. We knew this was a risk on Tuesday but we were hopeful.
So this morning we get a call and the vet doesn’t want to do surgery because black kitty is showing early signs of a respiratory track infection…sneezing, watery eyes, etc. It is very similar to a common cold in humans. So we can leave her or pick her up and bring her back after the infection clears. This is a major risk when getting a cat at the humane society or anywhere a lot of cats come together. Bringing her home we risk Moosh getting infected. But it is easy to detect and treat. So we will pick “Yet to be named Black Kitty” up this afternoon and bring her home. The good news is that they did the FIV tests and those came back negative.
Yesterday we took Mooshie in because she has had some digestive problems lately. It is probably a combination of variety of foods (from the getting Widgit to eat days) and depression over missing her friend. So we did some blood work, got some medicine and easy to digest food and we’ll hope for the best.
Looking forward to healthy pets!
A hui hou.
P.S. Thank you all for great name recommendations… we’re starting a list and checking it twice…
