Peter took new pics of little Truffle this morning so I had to blog. She had lost her mouse somewhere in the Christmas garland that I was going to hang up outside. Of course, the garland was originally on the dining room table but she decided that it was more fun on the floor.
I’m trying to learn something from this bundle of energy we named Truffle. She approaches everything with joyful abandon. If things aren’t a toy, they become a toy. If mom and dad say “NO”, that just makes it more fun. When you are tired, a warm laptop is the perfect place to sleep. She got trapped in a kitchen drawer yesterday. I didn’t see her and closed it — about 15 minutes later I kept hearing strange noises and went in search of Truffle.
Moosh-face is gradually adjusting to Truffle. She doesn’t run when Truffle enters a room. She sits and watches Truffle play. I’m still waiting for Moosh to whack Truffle if she gets to close! So far Moosh hasn’t shown signs that she has picked up Truffles respiratory infection but she has health problems of her own.
We just finished 2x a day drugs to help with her diarrhea. So it seems like she still has the runs but it is obviously painful for her to have a bowel movement which indicates that she is constipated. Which is it? I suspect she is a stressed kitty – first stressed by a constantly changing diet as we tried to get Widgit to eat, then stressed by Widgit’s passing and now stressed by Truffle. So I’m putting her on a bland diet of steamed chicken and pumpkin and seeing if we can make things easier. We did take her to the vet and her blood work all came back normal.
So it is days before Christmas and I’m uninspired. There are no presents, no cookies, a half decorated tree. I have tons of work to do but where should I start? I’ve been working on concepts for SiteSell…and/or tweeking my real estate site. I should call a bunch of prospects that may be out to Maui in January. I’ve been training for the whale season. I should be spending some time working investments…but that reminds me that I have to pay bills which is never fun. I was going to mow grass this morning but the sprinklers came on and shut that idea down. I’ll let you know if/when I get out of this funk!
