Wailuku is the center of Maui’s County government offices as well as a favorite place for lawyers and accountants!
CITIES/TOWNS: Wailuku, Waipahu, Waikapu, Waiheu, Kahakuloa
Wailuku is a historic town dating back to the early 1900’s. In early days it was a favorite resort town. Now it is one of the fastest-growing areas with new developments creeping up the West Maui Mountains and across the sand plains of Central Maui. Combining the charm of old Wailuku with the Hawaiian ethnic mix of cultures and the modern conveniences and you have a perfect place for your next home. It’s ‘sister city’ of Kahului is located just 5 miles where you find all the big box stores, Maui Medical Center, University of Hawaii-Maui Campus and the Maui International Airport. Don’t miss Wailuku First Fridays (first friday of each month) where the community joins with local musicians and street vendors for an evening of family fun.
Wailuku sits at the base of the Iao Valley and has a pleasant warm climate with occasional rain enough to keep that tropical lush feeling. Wailuku as a real estate district actually contains several smaller communities all named for the waterways coming from the West Maui Mountains – Waikapu (toward the west), Waihe’e and Waiehu (along the coast toward the North).
Wailuku real estate has both homes or condos at very reasonable prices for Hawaii;-). Most condos range between $200,000 and $300,000 while homes range from $300,000 to $800,000. There is a combination of old historic homes and new developments. There are a few areas with exclusive homes with breathtaking ocean views found in Wailuku Country Estates and Wailuku Heights.
Do you have questions about any Wailuku Real Estate that you found? Do you need assistance in searching for properties or have a home you’d like to see? Or maybe you are considering listing sometime in the next year. I’d be happy to help you. Call Kathy at 808-344-0469 or
